On this day we commemorate the birthday of Orville Wright, one half of the legendary Wright brothers, who are credited with inventing, building and flying the world's first successful airplane. Back in 1903, Orville and Wilbur Wright, with determination in their hearts and wind beneath their wings (literally), managed to achieve sustained, controlled, powered flight.
